New House

Our new house!

Alex napping on the boat

Wow, I know it has been a long time since I posted but I didn't realize it had been 3 months!

So a lot has happened since then. We are still living with my parents. We have purchased a new home and are currently painting and waiting on our carpet to be installed. We should be moved in by September 8/9. I am sooooo anxious to get into our house, I absolutely LOVE it and cant wait to make it more our own.

We have had a great summer! We spent many days at the lake relaxing and enjoying the water, Alex really loves to be in the water! We also welcomed a new nephew into our family. My brother and Evey welcomed Zion into the world on June 16, 2009. He is adorable! My mom, dad, Alex and I all went to California the first week of August to meet him. He is such a good baby, we miss him terribly and hate being so far away from him. We have enjoyed some time at the zoo and other placed around town but have spent lots of time inside as it has been so HOT!

I recently accepted a WOW position at work. This is a position where I will work every Saturday and Sunday night and get paid as if I were working 36 hours but I only have to work 24. It is a great opportunity for our family and I have been waiting for one of these positions since I was pregnant with Alex, they are given according to seniority, so I was finally the person with the most seniority, yay! I am really loving being at home with my little man all week.

Kyle and I will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary on September 8th. We will probably do something low key like dinner and a movie to celebrate.
I am going to wrap up this post because Alex is getting into EVERYTHING! I know I have said it before but I will really try to do better about updating!

Manslick road

We have officially moved out of our house and have closed on it. We are now living with my parents. We are not completely moved in yet but it is coming along and I think everyone is adjusting fine.
Moving was miserable. We moved Wednesday thru saturday! We had a lot of stuff and it made it even more difficult because it was going to three different places, no climate controlled storage, climate controlled storage and my parents house. So it wasn't like you could just move everything room by room and be done. I was exhausted, as was Kyle and everyone who helped us by the end of the 4 days! Here is a picture of alex on the last day having his breakfast in the almost empty living room, this tv was a lifesaver that day!

he is such a good boy :) Here was one last picture that I took of the house before I pulled out of the driveway :'(

As much as I wanted to move it was a little bit bittersweet. Kyle and I have lots of memories in that house and I will never forget it. Here are a few that really stand out in my mind.
1. The countless hours that we along with many friends and family spent taking wall paper off the walls, painting, tearing up flooring ect.
2. The proposal..I will never forget where I stood in the kitchen when Kyle proposed to me.
3. Home at last: we came home to this house from our honeymoon as the new mr and mrs baurle. I moved out of my parents house and in with my husband...I can't believe it has been almost three years!
4. Standing in our tiny master bathroom starring at the positive pregnancy test that told me I was going to be a mommy!
5. Bringing home from the hospital the most perfect loveable little boy.
6. Loveing on my sweet Haley for the last time before she went to heaven.
7. Alex had all of his firsts from his first year in this house, first tooth, first crawl, first word, first time walking, and first birthday.
I will never forget the home that my husband and I shared together for the first time but I am looking forward to making many more memories in a new home!

Derby fun!!!

Last Saturday was the Kentucky derby. I had to work all weekend but decided to wake up at 1 on Saturday and get ready so that I could go to the derby party that was at Kyle's cousins house. It was a lot of fun while I was there and we even won one of the jackpots on one of the races before derby.

Here is alex in his derby shirt that I made for him.
We had a big milestone this week for Alex, he started drinking out of his sippy cup in his own! He would never hold it before, we always had to hold it for him but he has finally figured it out, yay alex!

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Abbey and Eli. It is always so nice to get out of the house and into the sunshine, and it usually wears the little man out. He fell alseep on the way to the zoo and slept thru part of the zoo, then took a 3 hour nap when we got home!!

What a funny sleeping position, doesn't look very comfortable to me :) while we were at the zoo we found a little grass area so we could let the boys get out of their strollers. Shortly after we sat down two geese decided to join us, and then they were trying to eat Alex! Man were they aggressive! They were not even scared of me when I was trying to shoo them away!
I work tomorrow night. I don't know what Saturday holds, probably packing. Then on Sunday we are celebrating mothers day with our families at Kyle's sisters house.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful cinco de mayo!

Kita to the vet

Alex and I just got home from taking kita to the vet.

Here she is in the car. It was a less than joyfull experience. She is not the best leash walker and holding alex while trying to keep her from eating the other dogs was not my idea of fun. She got her shots without incident and we were outta there!
I flipped alex around in his carseat the other day, he loves facing forward and being a big boy!

You can see how red his poor little nose is :( Kyle is on his way home and I think we are going to have el nopal for dinner, I love that place! Then home to work on packing and Kyle needs to mow the front yard. Alex and I didn't make it out to that property today but our realtor is looking into it for us. Yay!
We are gearing up for derby! Hopefully we will win some money this year in the jackpots, we are not very lucky when it comes to winning money :)

Alex 0 blacktop 1

Today alex was really fussy all day. He went to bed somewhat late last night and got up at 8:30 this morning. He seemed a little clingy this morning but then went down for his nap and slept for about 2 1/2 hours which is normal for him. But the rest of the day he was still just being cranky. By the time Kyle got home I didn't know what to do with him, all he wanted to do was sit on my lap and then he would still just cry. So while Kyle was grilling dinner I decided that maybe he would like to go outside or a while. I took him outside and he was having fun walking around, I got out bubbles and he was happy. Then Kita got excited and started running around. She started running towards us so I stepped closer to alex so that she wouldn't side swipe him and knock him over.
Well she didn't, instead she jumped over him but didn't clear him and knocked him on the ground face first. He got a pretty good scratch/bruise on his nose. This also just added to the fussyness/clingyness! I felt really bad for him :(

Here is his poor little nose. I had called and scheduled his one year pictures for tomorrow. I then called back and cancelled them.
Alex had ravioli for dinner, it seems to be one of his favorites lately and he definitely made a mess of himself, but at least he ate good :)

We still have not found a house. We are seriously considering building! I have found a lot that I am interested in an alex and I may go check it out tomorrow.
Kita also goes to the vet tomorrow for her yearly shots. It may be a little hard to go to the vet, the last time I was there was when we put Haley to sleep and last year when I took them for their shots is when we found out how sick she was :( RIP my little Haley.

Date night

As the warm weather arrives I always get so excited to be able to get out of the house. Especially this past winter was hard because I didn't want to drag alex out in the elements so we spent days on end inside the house. I think one time he didn't get out of his pajamas for 6 days!!! (he put on clean ones every day but never left the house :)). So we have already had play dates at the zoo and have been to the park and had many outside adventures and I look forward to going to the pool this summer and many more playdates.
However this also brings a very lonely time for me. This is a SUPER busy time for Kyle at work. Since the weather got so warm so fast he didn't have time to train all his seasonal help. He also has a new manager under him that is just learning the ropes. Therefore alex and I have been on our own almost every night. For the past month I have only seen Kyle in passing, as I am getting home from work and going to bed, or as he is leaving for work.
Sunday night I was really tired from working all weekend and didn't feel like cooking so alex and I had a date night at the new qdoba on Dixie hwy. I am so glad that it is so close but it was packed!!!

Here is alex enjoying his rice, beans and cheese. He also had some yogurt and water.
After we got home it was bath time and then bed fir both of us, mommy was tired!
So a little update on the house hunting. We are going today to look at 5 houses in oldham county. At this point if we ont find a house it looks like we will be moving in with my parents until we find something...ugh, moving twice dosnt sound sound like fun but I am very thankful to my parents for letting us move in with them in our time if transition. I think if we don't find a house we may seriously consider building! We are both picky and just can't seem to find "the one". The tenative closing date for our house is May 22 or 24. All inspections and appraisals have gone thru!
Alex is really walking good now. He had a great first birthday and is so lucky to have so many friends and family that truly love him. Our whole family is truly blessed! I know this long, I am going to try to be better about posting more frequently. Hope everyone has a good week!

Here is one more picture of alex, sound asleep after another one of our date nights. I love this little boy!
Love like you never loved before

For sale!!

So our house is finally on the market! After over a year of talking about it and stressing about it and painting and cleaning and fighting, it is officially on the market.

We have been looking on line at some houses. We have driven by some but have not been in any. Unfortunately I am quickly discovering that Kyle and I have VERY different ideas about what we want in a house. I would really like to be in oldham county for the schools, he wants Henry. I would be happy with a big yard, maybe an acre. He wants 5 acres. We do both agree on a few things, such as a newer house, must have a basment and a garage. We will find a house that we agree on it just might take time.
On a nother note I got very exciting news this week. I am going to be an aunt again!!! My brothers girlfriend is expecting a little boy at the end of June. I guess this will warrent a trip to California some time after that to meet my new nephew. I am so happy for them and can't wait to see the little guy.
Alex had a dr appointment yesterday. He is 22 pounds 12 ounces, 75th percentile and 29 inches tall, 60th percentile. The doctor said that he looked great and that he thought he would be walking in no time. He is cruising quite well and can stand for about 20 seconds without holding on to anything. He got two shots and we don't go back until after his first bitthday, I can't believe he is almost one!!!
Another exciting thing that is going on this month is alex is going to be in swim lessons. There are 6 classes and I get to get in the pool with him. I am really excited about this, he loves the water so I think he will really love the lessons.
I think that is all for now. Alex has already been asleep for two hours and so I need to get to bed too. Hope everyone has a great week.
